Braised Y-Bone Steak with Onions
Serves: 4 | Preparation time: 15 mins | Cooking Time: 2 hours
4 Tasman Y-Bone Steaks
8 pearl onions
1 tbsp Olivital Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 cups Water
3 tbps gravy powder with 1/2 cup water
3 bay leaves
- Heat oil in a large nonstick fry pan on medium, when hot add the Y-Bone steaks and sear on both sides, add the onions and 2 cups of water and turn heat down to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes one side, then turn steaks and simmer for another 20 minutes (if becoming dry add more water).
- Mix the gravy powder with the 1/2 cup of water and add to the fry pan and stir until thickened.
- Once steaks have been seared they can be put into a large casserole dish or crockpot with pearl onions and bay leaves for 60 about minutes.
- Serve and enjoy.
