About the Job
What is the role of store management?
As a member of store management in our business, whether you are Assistant Store Manager (ASM), or Store Manager (SM), your overall objective is to maximise store performance. From customer satisfaction, sales, profit, team building and development, alongside controlling costs. You will draw on your own skill and experience to coach and hone the skills of our butchers and apprentices, to produce the freshest quality meat products for our customers. You will also guide and develop the store team to delight and deliver on our customer's growing expectations, ensuring a safe, clean and hygenic environment.
All of our Store Managers begin their journey in a Store Manager in Training (SMIT) role. During this period, you'll receive comprehensive training on our systems, policies, procedures, and leadership expectations. Once you've demonstrated the skills, knowledge, and capability required for the role, and both you and the business are confident in your readiness, you will be promoted to Store Manager and take full ownership of your store
What do you need to be part of our store management?
- Prior experience in a management role, preferably in fresh foods.
- Prior experience as a butcher (is desirable) who has progressed through to meat manager in a large supermarket or their own business.
- A proven ability to successfully deliver in all aspects of the role; driving sales, managing costs, profit, stock control and people management.
- Support our Lead Butchers to deliver on our Apprenticeship training program.
- A passion for providing excellent customer service.
- Highly motivated with a 'can do' attitude and professional presentation.
- Can engage, motivate and drive your team’s performance.
- Can work in a fast-paced environment and think on your feet.
- Ensuring our exacting standards are met every day - incl. food handling & hygiene, dress & cutting standards.
- Have a genuine passion for meat, supporting our butcher/apprentices and the time-honoured skills of our butchery trade.
