Chicken Gyros Marinade

Chicken Gyros

Serves: 8 | Preparation Time: 10 mins | Marination time: Overnight

Ingredients:

  • 1kg Hazeldenes fresh chicken leg fillets (skin off)
  • 2 cups Greek yogurt (570g)
  • ¼ cup lemon juice (60 ml)
  • ¾ cup olive oil (180 ml)
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Method:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the marinade ingredients and stir well.
  2. Add in the chicken leg fillets and coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour or preferably overnight.
  3. Cook in the oven or over a charcoal spit. Enjoy!
